TTU: The portals of Badrinath Temple to open on May 4 at 6 am for devotees. The temple is located in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district. The date was finalized on the occasion of Basant Panchami after special prayers at the former Tehri royal court in Narendra Nagar.
Date Announced After Rituals
The decision was taken after the Ganesh Panchang and Chowki Pujan ceremonies. Acharya Krishna Prasad Uniyal, the royal priest, finalized the date. The event was attended by former Tehri Maharaja Manvendra Shah, his family, Tehri Lok Sabha member Mala Rajya Laxmi Shah, Badrinath’s chief priest Rawal Amarnath Namboodri, and temple committee officials.
Badrinath Temple to Open After Winter Closure
Every year, after Diwali, the four Char Dham temples – Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri – close for winter. They reopen in April or May, allowing devotees to visit. The Badrinath Temple to open marks the beginning of the pilgrimage season.
