Goa CM Launches Private Solar-Electric Cruise on Mandovi
TTU: Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant launched the first private solar-electric cruise on Mandovi River. The launch took place at the floating jetty in Panaji. Union Minister of State for Power and Renewable Energy, Shripad Naik, also attended the event.
The cruise is developed by Goa Solar Power House and LRAJ Green Solutions Pvt Ltd. This marks a new step in clean energy transport in the state. The boat is now fully operational.
Key Focus: Tourism and Green Energy
CM Sawant said this solar-electric cruise on Mandovi will help tourism in Goa. He also said that it will help cut down carbon emissions. Reducing fossil fuel use is an important goal for the state government.
The Chief Minister said the initiative supports Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mission. The central government is promoting the use of renewable energy across sectors.
Private Solar-Electric Cruise on Mandovi Now Operational
A spokesperson from LRAJ Green Solutions said the boat is Goa’s first fully functional solar-electric cruise on Mandovi. He added that this type of technology is already in use in other states. These include Kerala, Punjab, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Odisha, and Uttar Pradesh.
The cruise operates on solar-electric power. It reduces the need for fuel-based engines. It also creates less noise and air pollution.
New Chapter for Sustainable Travel in Goa
This project shows how private companies can support public goals. The collaboration aims to provide eco-friendly travel for both locals and tourists.
