UP’s Tourism Minister Pushes Promotions for Mahakumbh 2025

TTU: Uttar Pradesh’s Tourism and Culture Minister, Jaiveer Singh, has instructed officials to carry out extensive promotional activities for Mahakumbh 2025. Which is one of the largest religious gatherings in the world. During a review meeting, Singh emphasized the importance of engaging students, women, and youth to connect with the cultural and spiritual significance of the event.

Cultural Programs and Road Shows for Mahakumbh 2025

The Culture Department and the Information and Public Relations Department have been given responsibility for organizing cultural programs and road shows. These events will promote Mahakumbh 2025 across Uttar Pradesh and in other key cities, including Nasik, Ujjain, and Haridwar.

Promotional activities will include pre-Kumbh cultural evenings, inviting artists from all districts of the state to participate. Interested artists can register for the events through the Culture Department’s official website. The aim is to boost participation and increase awareness of the event.

A Kumbh Yatra Mobile Bus will travel across the country, showcasing the history and significance of Mahakumbh through LED displays. The state also plans to hold cultural programs in collaboration with universities, colleges, and schools to encourage community involvement, especially among younger audiences.

Timeline and Key Activities Before Mahakumbh 2025

The Tourism Minister has set a deadline of December 15, 2024, to complete all promotional activities in every district of Uttar Pradesh. Roadshows, laser shows, digital exhibitions, seminars, and Kumbh-themed quizzes will take place as part of the preparations. There will also be live competitions, folk dances, devotional performances, fusion shows, and short film screenings to attract public attention.

During the meeting, the minister emphasized the importance of making Mahakumbh an unforgettable experience for pilgrims. The focus will be on showcasing India’s cultural heritage and religious traditions.

Review of Other Cultural Events

In the same meeting, the minister also reviewed the preparations for Ayodhya Deepotsav 2024. International Ramleela performances from groups based in Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia, and Malaysia are scheduled. A special performance of Ramcharitmanas: Nari Shakti by 50 artists from the Maitreya Pahari troupe will be featured during the event.

The minister discussed the plans for Dev Deepawali celebrations, which will highlight India’s ancient Sanatan traditions. A record 2.5 million lamps will be lit in Ayodhya this year to mark the occasion.

Construction Projects and Deadlines

Jaiveer Singh also expressed concern over delays in ongoing construction projects for the 2023-24 financial year, especially in districts like Mainpuri, Hardoi, and Etah. He directed officials to speed up the work and ensure timely completion. The minister reviewed the status of approved projects for 2024-25 and instructed that all tender processes be finalized quickly to avoid further delays.

The meeting was attended by senior officials. Principal Secretary of Tourism Mukesh Kumar Meshram, Special Secretary Isha Priya, and Director of Tourism Prakhar Mishra were present. Representatives from the Culture and Tourism Departments also attended the meeting.
