This year, from April 22 to May 3, India will celebrate Ganga Pushkaralu, a festival that is typically observed in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana once every 12 years. For this celebration, Indian Railways would run special trains between Varanasi and Visakhapatnam.

You should plan your summer vacations in accordance with the fact that the special train service will also be extended for the summer months.

According to reports, special trains would leave Visakhapatnam on April 19 and 26 towards Varanasi in honour of the Ganga Pushkaralu Festival. Travel back will take place on April 20 and 27. There will also be train services in May and June, specifically for the summer season.

According to sources, Varanasi is prepared to welcome worshippers for this 12-day major festival, the most of whom would come from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Devotees swarm the Ganga river banks in Varanasi and Haridwar during the festival.

According to tradition, Pushkara, a devotee who had been given the ability by the Hindu god Shiva to purify holy rivers, opted to enter 12 holy rivers. Ganga, Narmada, Saraswati, Yamuna, Godavari, Krishna, Kaveri, Bhima, Tapti, Tungabhadra, Sindhu, and Pranhita are among these rivers.

People bathe in the holy Ganges (Ganga) during the festival to atone for their sins and receive blessings. It is thought that Ganga Pushkaralu is a very lucky time to conduct ancestor-related rites and celebrations. The celebration also includes cultural events, musical devotions, and prayer offerings.
